Job summary

Bellway Health and Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Therapy Team. You will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to deliver services and help residents participate in activities of daily living, while contributing to treatment planning and patient growth.

The position is Full-time with flexible scheduling and opportunities to participate in quality assurance and ongoing education.

Qualifications

  • Must have active PTA license in state(s) of practice.
  • Associateess degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services to residents under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Screen residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
  • Assist in evaluations and identification of goals and treatment plans with the PT.
  • Contribute to individual and group treatments focused on strength, mobility, balance, gait, ROM and modalities.
  • Assist in selecting techniques/media and adjust activities per resident performance and PT guidance.
  • Monitor residents responses and modify plans as indicated in consultation with the PT.
  • Help establish and modify resident schedules with the PT and care team.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules and CMS-compliant documentation using NetHealthEMR.

Bellway Health and Rehabis hiring compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Therapy Team.As a PTA, you will work alongside our growing department of therapists empowering patients to participate in their activities of daily living. In addition, you will help develop strategies and treatment plans to support patient growth and ability to overcome challenges.

This position is Full-time with flexible scheduling

Job Functions:

  • Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.

  • Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals todeterminethe needfor intervention/treatment.

  • Identifyindications for evaluations atappropriate intervalsandassistin the evaluation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.

  • Assist the Physical Therapist inidentifyinga target list, including short-term goals, long-termgoalsand treatment plan.

  • Conduct both individual and group treatment as assigned by the Physical Therapist and outlined in treatment plan that includes, but is not limited to, areas of muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion activities and modalities.

  • Assistin theselectionof physical therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media asindicatedby the resident’s performance and following consultation with the Physical Therapist

  • Monitor residents’ response to intervention andconsultwith the Physical Therapist if modification isindicated.

  • Assist in establishing and modifying individual resident schedules in conjunction with the Physical Therapist and other team members.

  • Adhere to department and resident schedule andmodifiesasappropriate fortreatment regimen.

  • Trainresidents, family andappropriate staffin the use or application of such equipment.

  • Actively participate in resident, family, and staff education.

  • Consistentlydemonstratesound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.

  • Assistwith andparticipatesin Quality Assurance Program asrequired.

  • To complete compliant and medically necessary documentation from CMS expectations inNetHealthEMR systems

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in physical therapyfrom an accredited program.

  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
