Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for our Outpatient Rehabilitation department in Silver Spring, MD. The PTA will assess, plan, and implement therapy across acute, outpatient, and inpatient settings while coordinating with the care team.

H1B visa transfer sponsorship can be considered. The position offers a full‑time schedule with day shifts, strong teamwork, and commitment to compassionate care within a faith‑based organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Active Maryland License.
• 1 year of Rehab experience preferred.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment, prognosis, and plan of care.
• Provide, or supervise therapy intervention aligned with exam results and plan of care.
• Plan for discharge with follow‑up or referral when goals are met or progress ceases.
• Communicate and document all aspects of patient management with the care team, supervising rehab aides and staff.
• Manage schedule to accommodate census and caseload, and inform management of issues.
• Attend team meetings and communicate patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Contribute to performance improvement and professional development activities.
• Educate consumers and healthcare professionals about therapy benefits.
