Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program with an associate's degree.
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility standards.
• Ability to supervise clinical support staff as applicable within license rules.

Responsibilities

• Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, staff development, departmental committees and in-service education programs.
• Consistently utilizes and provides appropriate supervision to clinical support staff in accordance with Physical Therapy Practice Act of practicing state.
• Completes necessary charge/statistical information reflecting services documented and rendered to patients.
• Provides therapeutic interventions per treatment programs developed by a physical therapist for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Assists physical therapists in surveying patients within the scope of practice.
• Maintains documentation cosigned per facility guidelines and Practice Act.
• Rotates through treatment areas to facilitate organizational needs.
• Requests and provides objective feedback to supervisors regarding department performance and emergencies.
• Schedules to maintain productivity as per the facility standards.
• Implements treatment plans in line with patient response and status changes to maximize outcomes.
