Job summary

MedCadre seeks a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide inpatient rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in Oklahoma. You will help patients improve mobility, strength, and independence during hospitalization, with a focus on safety and functional outcomes.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and experience with EMR systems. Inpatient hospital setting and fall precautions knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active PTA license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise, mobility training, transfers, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent communication, clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with medically complex and hospitalized patients.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.

• Educate patients and caregivers on mobility, exercises, safety, and home programs.
• Follow appropriate precautions for fall risk, weight-bearing status, lines, tubes, and other patient restrictions.
• Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation in the EMR.
• Communicate patient progress with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and hospital policies.
