Job summary

MedCadre seeks a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to provide rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement treatment plans, assist patients in restoring mobility, and help achieve rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Active PTA license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year PTA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and patient mobility.

• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and mobility interventions.
• Assist patients in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and functional independence.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, mobility techniques, and injury prevention.
• Instruct patients on the safe use of assistive devices, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation, progress notes, and patient records in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with discharge planning and continuity of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

The PTA will implement treatment plans, assist patients in restoring mobility, improving functional abilities, reducing pain, and achieving rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
• Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred.
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment.
