Job summary

Asheboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Asheboro, NC is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to provide patient-focused PT services under supervision. Work involves documenting progress, assisting with referrals, and coordinating with the rehabilitation team to ensure quality patient care.

The role requires an accredited degree in Physical Therapy, current state license, and a dedication to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress on progress note with PT cosignature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients for PT services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relations with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff and others as needed.
• Comply with facility safety policies and patient confidentiality.
