Job summary

Seaport Scripps Home Health is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for in-home care across San Diego County. The role involves providing therapy under a PT's Plan of Care, assisting with mobility, pain management, and gait training.

The ideal candidate has an active California PTA license, CPR certification, and at least 2 years of patient care experience, preferably in Home Health. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Active California PTA license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience (Home Health experience preferred).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care (POC).
• Assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion exercises.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage.
• Educate patients on the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, prosthetics).
• Monitor and report patient progress and changes in condition.
