Job summary

Symbii Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a PRN, part-time position in Preston, Idaho. The PTA will work under the supervision of a physical therapist and follow the physician’s plan of care to help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and regain function.

The successful candidate will have an approved CAPTE PTA program, passed national PTA licensure, and current CPR certification, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• PTA must be licensed where the HHA is located if licensure is required.
• Graduated from a CAPTE-approved PTA program and has passed a national examination.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of the physical therapist and physician’s plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, transfers and prosthetic training.
• Uses therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to the PT and team.
• Educates patients on use of mobility devices and assistive devices.
• Keeps clinical notes and records within required timeframes.
• Participates in team meetings and in-service trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
