Job summary

Margate Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team in Jefferson, North Carolina. You will assist in implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents regain function and mobility.

Responsibilities include carrying out individualized plans, guiding exercises, documenting progress, and educating residents and families on safe post-therapy routines.

Qualifications

• Current, active North Carolina state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or geriatric care is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and work in a team‑oriented environment.
• Compassionate, resident‑centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out individualized treatment plans for residents based on their physical needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Implement therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve strength, mobility, and function.
• Provide hands-on support and guidance to residents during therapy sessions.
• Monitor and report on residents’ progress, documenting changes and updating treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents and their families on exercise routines and safety measures to follow after therapy.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding rehabilitation therapy.
