Job summary

FlexStaff Ltd. is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our client’s team in Manhattan & Brooklyn, NY. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities, under a licensed PT's supervision, to implement tailored treatment plans and enhance functional abilities.

You will assist with exercises, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. A NY PTA license or eligibility is required, with a commitment to person-centered care and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting (required).
• Licensed or license-eligible as a PTA in New York State.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Committed to person-centered care, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Execute treatment programs designed by supervising PTs, including exercises and adaptive equipment use.
• Observe and document patient responses, noting progress or concerns to share with the team.
• Communicate effectively with therapists, physicians, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of sessions, progress, and observations.
• Provide training and support to individuals receiving services, families, and direct care staff on exercises and equipment.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and stay current with best practices.
