Job summary

Yanceyville Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Yanceyville, NC, is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) PRN to provide comprehensive treatment under the supervision of a PT. The role requires a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy and current state licensure, with duties spanning patient assessment, documentation, and collaboration with the rehab team.

The PTA will participate in scheduling, billing, and maintaining professional relationships, while complying with facility

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services.
• Comply with facility policies and patient confidentiality.
• Report to work on time and uphold a professional image.
