Primary Purpose

Provide quality customer service within the Produce Department. Responsible for maintaining standards, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise.
• Unload trucks for the Produce Department.
• Use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions.
• Report accidents per procedures.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, name badge, and maintain a neat appearance.
• Complete required training courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Ability to solve problems using technical information.
• Meet minimum age requirements.
• Meet physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.

Physical Requirements

• Use of computers and communication systems.
• Perform repetitive motions, bend, lift up to 15-50 lbs., pull or push up to 75 lbs.
• Stand and walk frequently.
• Handle substances related to cleaning and packaging.
• Reach at various levels and tolerate working in extreme temperatures.
