Job description

Join to apply for the PT Outbound Freight Handler role at Southeastern Freight Lines.

As a PT Outbound Freight Handler, you will load and unload freight onto and off of equipment, assist in recouping damaged freight, and ensure proper handling and safety procedures are followed.

1. Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers before loading freight.
2. Use safe lifting techniques to load and unload freight.
3. Select and operate proper freight handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers.
4. Plan cube utilization and weight distribution during loading.
5. Count and inspect freight for shortages or damage, documenting any issues.
6. Review freight bills and manifests for special instructions, exceptions, and proper labeling.
7. Verify hazardous materials and ensure proper placarding when applicable.
8. Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
3. Preferred experience as a Forklift Operator, Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler.
4. Forklift Certification is a plus.

Pay: $17.35 - $20.85 per hour.
