Job description

As a PT Outbound Freight Handler, your responsibilities include loading and unloading freight, assisting in recouping damaged freight, and ensuring safety and accuracy in handling procedures.

1. Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers before loading freight.
2. Use safe lifting techniques and proper equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers to load and unload freight.
3. Plan cube utilization and weight distribution during loading.
4. Count and inspect freight, documenting shortages or damages.
5. Review freight bills and manifests for special instructions, exceptions, and proper documentation, including hazardous materials and placarding.
6. Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to pass background and drug tests, and preferably prior experience as a forklift operator, warehouse worker, or material handler. Forklift certification is also preferred.

Pay rate ranges from $17.35 to $20.85 per hour for part-time, second shift work.
