Duties and Responsibilities

1. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and government regulations.
2. Meet all applicable management planning guidelines.
3. Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
4. Develop product knowledge in all areas of the meat department, including cooking procedures.
5. Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
6. Assist in training other associates when assigned.
7. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and comply with company personal appearance policy.
8. Maintain solid communication within the department and organization.
9. Support safety standards, report equipment issues, and keep work areas clean and safe.
10. Observe sanitation and food safety standards.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

1. Lift meat packages weighing 1-40 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
2. Meet volume activity standards.
3. Stand or walk continuously in temperatures around 45°F.
4. Perform repetitive motions such as grasping, twisting, reaching, and handling.
5. Handle cleaning materials, packaging materials, and meat products.
6. Bend frequently.

Preferred Requirements

1. Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product selection.
2. Identify, wrap, price, and weigh meat products following standard procedures.
3. Stock cases using proper rotation procedures.
4. Assist meat cutters with tasks like scraping, traying, cubing, and grinding meats.
5. Receive, code, rotate, and store meat deliveries.
6. Sanitize cases, wrap stations, equipment, and storage areas.
7. Meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Salary range: $15.90 - $21.60 per hour.
