Job summary

The Centers, Inc. is seeking a reliable Lifeguard to supervise pool areas, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies in accordance with American Red Cross standards.

Minimum requirements include Lifeguard Training (American Red Cross, Ellis, YMCA or equivalent), First Aid, AED and CPR-PR; Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard Instructor certifications are preferred, and prior lifeguard experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross, Ellis, YMCA or equivalent Lifeguard Training certification is required.
• First Aid, AED, and CPR-PR certifications are required.
• Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard Instructor certifications preferred.
• Previous lifeguard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and lifeguard supervision.
• Prevent and respond to emergencies and malfunctions of equipment or facility.
• Lifeguard according to Facility, State Code and Lifeguard Training standards.
• Maintain current certifications and attend in-service training.
• Perform pool maintenance duties as required.

• Prevent and respond to emergency situations
• Identify and report any malfunctions or irregularities of equipment or facility
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meeting and in service training
• Enforce all rules and regulations
• Provide customer service
• Lifeguard according to Facility, State Code and Lifeguard Training standards
• Supervise proper use of swimming pools along with supporting facilities
• Maintain current certifications in lifeguard training, First Aid for the professional rescuer, and CPR for the professional rescuer
• Perform pool maintenance duties as required
• Other duties as required
