Job summary

BOS Security, Inc. seeks a security officer in the Athens, GA area for either part-time or full-time work. Shifts run 6 PM to 8 AM and can be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on the site.

The role starts PT with a potential to move to FT based on needs and availability, and weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities include patrolling, inspecting doors and windows, deterring violations, reporting hazards, and ensuring safe entry and traffic flow at access points.

Qualifications

• Security, law enforcement, military, or related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check; random drug testing.
• Must have smartphone, valid driver's license, and own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Patrols buildings and grounds on foot, including stairs as needed.
• Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
• Warns violators and apprehends or directs away suspicious persons.
• Inspects equipment for tampering and reports irregularities.
• Monitors for hazards and reports fire or safety issues.
• Detains, if necessary, to protect client property and safety.
• Controls traffic at access points to maintain orderly flow.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

BOS Security is now hiring for a part-time/full time security officer in the Athens, Ga area.

Schedule: Shifts are between the hours of 6PM and 8AM, and can be 8, 10, or 12 hours long, depending on the site

Position will be PT to start with the potential to move to FT based on needs/availability

Must have weekend availability

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Trained and qualified to work assigned post. Understands the specific and general post instructions for that assigned post. Has practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client
• Patrols buildings and grounds on foot, at times walking up flights of stairs through buildings
• Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure
• Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
• Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked
• Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of client property
• Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Permits authorized persons to enter property
• Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips
• Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff
• Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points to maintain orderly flow
• Other duties as assigned
