Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Work with the pharmacy manager to control inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
  2. Weigh, measure, mix drugs and other medical compounds, fill bottles with correct quantities, and advise self-medicating patients. Dispense non-prescription medications and communicate with health and insurance professionals.
  3. Perform patient immunizations regularly.
  4. Assist the manager in scheduling pharmacy staff, recognizing and rewarding performance, disciplining as needed, and assigning tasks to optimize skills and meet profit goals.
  5. Support ongoing training and development of department staff to improve performance, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
  6. Monitor and improve department operations to control expenses, meet labor goals, and reduce shrinkage.
  7. Respond courteously to customer complaints and questions, provide counseling on prescription issues, and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to improve customer service.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean department by implementing effective housekeeping practices to meet health and OSHA standards.
  9. Keep accurate records and files related to department activities, including associate performance, sales, and compliance reports.
  10. Ensure smooth department and store operations through teamwork and continuous performance improvement.
  11. Perform any additional duties of staff as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D
  • State Pharmacist License
