Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist the pharmacy manager in controlling inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
2. Weigh, measure, and mix drugs and other medical compounds; fill bottles with correct quantities and compositions; advise self-medicating patients; dispense non-prescription medications; and communicate with health and insurance professionals.
3. Perform patient immunizations regularly.
4. In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, schedule pharmacy associates, recognize and reward performance, discipline staff as needed, and assign work to utilize skills effectively while meeting profit objectives.
5. Support ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
6. Monitor and improve department operations to control expenses, meet labor goals, and reduce shrinkage.
7. Respond courteously to customer complaints and questions, provide counseling on prescription issues, and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to improve customer service.
8. Maintain a safe, clean department environment in compliance with company, health department, and OSHA standards.
9. Keep accurate records and files related to department activities, including associate performance, sales plans, and required pharmacy reports.
10. Ensure smooth department and store operations through cooperation with colleagues and supervisors; strive for continuous job performance improvement.
11. Perform any other duties of staff as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The requirements include:
