Job summary

CENTERS, LLC is seeking a responsible on-site Operations & Recreation Center Coordinator to oversee daily operations at the Health and Recreation Center. You will lead part-time staff, ensure excellent customer service, and manage memberships, rentals, and program activities in a collaborative campus setting.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, coordinating with campus partners, and supporting events while maintaining logs and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily on-site operations of the Health and Recreation Center, ensuring efficient facility management, program operations, customer service, and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support the mission, values, and overall success of Campus Recreation by promoting a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for members, guests, participants, and staff.
  • Supervise, lead, and delegate responsibilities to part-time staff; provide mentorship, performance feedback, training, and support while ensuring appropriate staffing and shift coverage.
  • Serve as a frontline customer service representative by assisting members, guests, and visitors with questions, concerns, facility access, memberships, programs, rentals, and other services.
  • Process memberships, sales, locker and equipment rentals, programs, and other customer transactions using membership and facility management software; troubleshoot system issues and elevate concerns as needed.
  • Monitor facility activity and program areas while consistently enforcing policies, procedures, access requirements, safety standards, and risk-management protocols.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and sound judgment to resolve patron concerns, operational issues, and unexpected situations while communicating effectively with professional staff and campus partners.
  • Inspect and maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and readiness; complete general and assigned cleaning duties, comply with PPE standards, and coordinate maintenance or custodial needs.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, facility setup and breakdown, rentals, programs, special events, and external events.
  • Respond to medical and non-medical emergencies in accordance with training and established Emergency Action Plans; complete required incident reports and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, checklists, and administrative records while ensuring timely communication of operational issues to appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate with campus facilities management and police, custodial staff, building partners, and other stakeholders to support facility operations and events.
  • Attend and actively participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Represent the Harper Coellege, CENTERS, and the Department of Campus Recreation professionally while performing additional duties and administrative projects as assigned.
