Job summary

Eastern Environmental Law Center (EELC) is seeking a part-time Development Manager to implement, adapt and ideate fundraising strategies. This role will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donations with emphasis on growing the cadre of individual donors and supporting foundation grant writing.

The position is hybrid with in-person presence as needed, 15-20 hours per week and occasional evenings for events.

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor stewardship.
• Ability to develop and implement fundraising plans.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort working with an executive director and board.

Responsibilities

• Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to sustain and increase contributions.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and new individual donors, including family foundations.
• Research and identify potential institutional funders (foundations, aligned businesses, financial institutions and law firms).
• Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes for the Board.
• Develop donor-focused fundraising materials and annual appeal campaigns.
• Support efforts to ensure a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture.

Job description

EELC is seeking a part-time Development Manager who will be responsible for implementing, adapting and ideating strategies to expand EELC’s advancement program. This person will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donations with an emphasis on growing the cadre of individual donors and support foundation grant writing. The successful candidate will be a seasoned, motivated self-starter.

Ideally, this person will have a keen interest in environmental issues and familiarity with New Jersey and the Tri-state area, as well as the philanthropic community. This position is hybrid with in-person presence mutually agreed as needed. Anticipated time requirements are 15-20 hours per week with occasional evenings for events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
