ELEVATE Pregnancy and Family Resource Center

Position: Development Director

Department: Office

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: hourly wage + yearly incentive

Position Summary: The Development Director will implement fund development and marketing activities to ensure ELEVATE has the resources necessary to achieve organizational goals and meet operational costs. The Development Director plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of our organization through strategic fundraising initiatives and relationship management. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development, including the cultivation of donor relationships, management of fundraising campaigns, and ensuring effective data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nonprofit management and digital marketing, with a proven track record in securing funding through various channels.

Education Requirements: A bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit administration, or public administration and experience as a grant writer or fundraising specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and foster relationships.
  • Knowledge of the local and regional philanthropic community.
  • Strong event planning and sponsorship cultivation experience.
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with integrity and be a contributing team player.
  • Advanced computer skills in word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentation development.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Embrace the mission of ELEVATE and provide information about ELEVATE’s goals and vision to the community.
  2. Ensure all fundraising efforts maintain a satisfactory efficiency ratio between income, expense, and effort.
  3. Conduct outreach activities to raise community awareness and establish collaborative partnerships.
  4. Formulate and execute strategies to accomplish resource development goals and objectives as identified by ELEVATE Board of Directors and Executive Director.
  5. Develop and implement PR and marketing ideas to promote ELEVATE’s mission and coordinate the development of newsletters.
  6. Actively expand the current donor base.
  7. Implement a data collection system to document all resource development contacts.
  8. Ensure that collaborative partners are thanked and recognized for their contributions.
  9. Maintain connection and communication with current donors.
  10. Plan and coordinate special events, including the Evening for Life.
  11. Provide the Executive Director with monthly progress reports.
  12. Maintain a professional demeanor and adapt to the changing needs of the organization.
  13. Stay informed about wills, trusts, estate law, and other relevant regulations to guide donors in their giving strategies.
  14. Assist in budgeting processes related to development activities.
  15. Complete additional work assignments as requested by the Executive Director.
