Primary Purpose

Perform duties at the deli service counter to maintain department appearance, quality, safety, and food safety standards. Support Hannaford's strategy, build customer relations, and provide enthusiastic service.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greet and assist customers in locating and selecting products.
2. Provide outstanding customer service and offer solutions to meet customer expectations.
3. Slice, cut, prepare, weigh, and package products according to standards.
4. Maintain high product quality standards.
5. Achieve productivity standards as outlined by management.
6. Develop product knowledge in various department areas.
7. Perform cleaning functions as per company policy.
8. Assist in training other associates and perform assigned functions.

Qualifications

1. Experience in deli, restaurant, or food service is helpful but not required.
2. Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
3. Interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
4. Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
5. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
6. Must meet minimum age requirements.
7. Ability to meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Physical Requirements

1. Lift up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
2. Reach to shoulder lifting 20 lbs. frequently and overhead occasionally.
3. Push/pull 3-15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
4. Perform repetitive grasping, hand, and arm motions while standing/walking.
5. Meet activity standards for the department.
6. Bend, reach, grasp, and lift produce items at or above waist level.
7. Operate controls, handle objects, and use tools for opening boxes, preparing, and cleaning produce.
8. Handle substances related to cleaning, packaging, and food products.
9. Tolerate working in hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes.

Salary range: $17.35 - $24.75 per hour.
