The primary purpose of this job is to handle and possess knowledge of all deli products. Responsibilities include receiving, processing, preparing, wrapping, slicing, weighing, marking, packaging products, and stocking shelves, cases, and bins while maintaining neat and attractive displays.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide quality customer service to consumers, co-workers, vendors, and business associates.
• Receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh, mark, and package products.
• Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, and rotating products (weighing less than 30 lbs).
• Maintain proper cooler conditions, organize cases, and clean (products may weigh over 20 lbs, up to 50 lbs).
• Maintain prep area cleanliness, including sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Follow all federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the deli area.
• Ensure safe and clean sales floor conditions, including sweeping and mopping.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service, answer questions, make recommendations, and promote products.
• Dress according to company policy and maintain a neat appearance.
• Complete ELM training courses as assigned.

GENERAL RULES

• Report accidents and file incident reports within 24 hours.
• Use First Aid kits for injuries.
• Follow instructions and ask questions if unsure.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Wear appropriate apparel and footwear.
• No horseplay or running on premises.
• Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.
• Wear PPE where required, including cut-resistant gloves when working with knives.
• Practice proper food safety and sanitation habits.
• Use proper lifting procedures.
• Keep floors and work areas clean and clear.
• Never leave machinery unattended.
• Follow smoking policies and understand company policies and procedures.
• Know MSDS information for all materials used.
• Complete Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Right to Know training.

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to communicate and understand policies and safety regulations.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, with or without accommodations.
• Ability to use or learn to use necessary equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements

• Minimum 4-hour shifts or more.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand 55%, walk 45%, sit 0%.
• Work in temperatures from freezer environments to non-air-conditioned back rooms.

Preferred Requirements

• Understanding of company policies and procedures.
