Job summary

Aviva Granbury is looking for a dedicated Cook to assist with meal preparation for our residents. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality service and resident satisfaction in a supportive and engaging environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma and preferably some experience in a similar role. You will need to be SERVE Safe Certified or willing to obtain certification. This position offers flexible shifts and the potential to advance to full-time status with benefits.

Qualifications

• SERVE Safe Certified (or able to achieve certification).
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner.

Shift Details

We are currently searching for a Cook to assist with two shifts a week. Please note, this may change throughout employment as needed with notice.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive working relationship with all residents, resident family members, and associates.
• Maintain a high degree of resident and guest satisfaction through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
• Effectively and appropriately communicate with each co-worker and community leader.
• Prepare and present meals according to the planned menus, accommodating special diets, in a fine dining style.
• Perform prep work for upcoming meals and events.
• Complete food inventory on hand, accounting for usage and deliveries.
• Maintain refrigerator and freezer in a clean and organized manner as well as proper temperature control, ensuring proper food temperatures for hot and cold items.
• Assure foods are prepared, stored, and labeled according to proper kitchen and food procedures.
• Always ensure only food serving items are present in and around the serving station.
• Use cleaners and other hazardous materials according to department procedure.
• Complete and adhere to all other tasks and responsibilities set by the direct supervisor.
