Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this job is to scan and/or enter numbers on register, lift and move goods, make change, bag orders, and handle special projects such as restocking, returns, and replenishment of front-end items like candy, gift cards, and snacks. Responsibilities also include cleaning and assisting with carts.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties at the start of each shift.
2. Block aisles, set-up checkout areas, and displays as needed.
3. Provide exceptional customer service.
4. Operate the cash register, tally items, take money, and make change.
5. Bag items and place bags into carts as necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand company policies and safety regulations.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, with or without accommodations.
• Learn to operate necessary equipment and tools.
• Complete the company's introductory (probationary) period of 30 or 60 days.
• Perform all job functions safely and meet performance standards, including attendance.
• Wear proper clothing and shoes approved for the role.
• Possess relevant technical training.

Physical Requirements

• Minimum shift: 4 hours, depending on business needs.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for approximately 55% of the time, walk for 45%, sit 0%.
• Maximum pull static weight: 20 lbs.

Preferred Requirements

• Understanding of company policies and procedures as outlined in manuals and handbooks.
