Job summary

United Security Inc. is seeking Behavioral Health Security Officers (Part-Time/Per Diem) in Middletown, CT.

You will work under medical supervision to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for behavioral health patients, observing behavior and applying de-escalation techniques to manage crises. The role requires two years of direct patient care in health/behavioral health settings, CPI/MAB/MOAB/TIDES or similar training, and the ability to perform patient holds when necessary.

Qualifications

• CT Guard Card required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS or CPR certification required upon hire.
• Two years of direct patient care in health/behavioral health settings; trained in psychiatric restraint; de-escalation first.

Responsibilities

• De-escalation & crisis management to safely de-escalate agitated patients.
• Patient observation and reporting to nurses or psychiatrists.
• Provide therapeutic support with empathy to calm individuals.
• Maintain officer presence to deter aggression and ensure safety.
• Support security measures (access control, surveillance) discreetly to reassure clients.
