Job summary

Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA seeks an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach across all phases of a NJCAA Division I athletic program. You will assist with recruitment, on-campus visits, and communicating with prospective student athletes while coordinating team organization and travel logistics.

• Organization: manage program organization, time, practices, travel, and scouting reports; ensure compliance with meetings, statistics, rosters, schedules and awards.

• Recruitment
  • Identify prospective student athletes and establish and maintain appropriate communication.
  • Conduct effective on-campus visits.
  • Demonstrate success with respect to qualified prospective student athletes.
• Organization
  • Provide effective organization of program and management of time.
  • Perform a variety of coaching functions at all practices.
  • Organization and supervision for team travel.
  • Scouting of all future opponents and providing scouting reports to the team
  • Understand and conference, regional and NJCAA requirements in regard to meetings, statistics, rosters, schedules and awards
