Job summary

Denison University seeks an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in leading all athletic functions for a competitive collegiate program. You will help plan practices, develop training, and craft scouting reports while guiding student-athletes and aiding in recruiting from outreach to campus visits.

Role includes coordinating travel, creating content for alumni engagement, and upholding team and university rules. A Bachelor's Degree and a valid Driver's License are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Driver’s License required.
• Experience in collegiate athletics and recruiting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists Head Coach with practice and game planning.
• Develops training sessions for Denison athletes and provides athletes with feedback and direction.
• Develops strategy for future opponents and analyzes film and creates scouting reports.
• Recruits prospective student-athletes, communicates via email, phone, and in-person at recruiting events.
• Arranges travel plans and itineraries for the team including making hotel reservations, meals, equipment, and practice schedule.
• Updates and maintains social media content.
• Monitors student-athletes’ academic progress.
• Reinforces team and University rules and expectations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in managing, executing, and leading all administrative and athletic functions of a competitive collegiate sports program. This role is responsible for setting and maintaining team rules and expectations, coaching and developing student-athletes, and driving recruiting efforts from initial outreach through campus visits. Additionally, the Assistant Head Coach coordinates team travel logistics, conducts film analysis and opponent scouting, and manages program-specific content creation to enhance alumni engagement and promote both the team and Denison University.Department/Division Overview:At Denison University, athletic success and academic rigor go hand in hand.
