Job summary

MercyOne Genesis seeks a Part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join a 17-county bi-state service area. Day shift, 20 hours per week, inpatient/outpatient settings as needed.

Provide treatment under guidance of a licensed therapist, document accurately, and supervise interns. Iowa PTA license required; BLS within 6 months. No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• 2 year college program or equivalent experience.
• Iowa Physical Therapist Assistant license (if licensed in another state, licensure within 1 year).
• No experience required.
• BLS certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to patients within MercyOne Genesis settings (inpatient, outpatient, long-term, home health, outreach).
• Provide treatment independently according to State practice guidelines.
• Assist therapist in reassessment.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely.
• Supervise clinical interns with guidance from the supervising physical therapist.

Education

Iowa PTA license

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months

As a PT Assistant At MercyOne Genesis, You Will

• Provide treatment to patients within Genesis Health System in a caring, professional and efficient manner - settings may include inpatient, out-patient, long term, home healthcare and /or outreach services
• Provide treatment independently according to State practice guidelines
• Be responsible for assisting the therapist in reassessment
• Complete necessary documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Supervise clinical interns in an effective and professional manner with the guidance and assistance of the supervising physical therapist

Schedule

• 20 hours a week
• Day shift

General Requirements

• 2 year college program or equivalent experience
