A leading facility in Long Beach is seeking a dedicated Activities Coordinator to enhance residents' quality of life through engaging activities and effective communication. The role involves planning, conducting activities, and ensuring residents' needs are met. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in long-term care. Participate in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities. Assist in providing good communication between employees of all levels, residents, their families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public to meet the needs and best interests of residents, the community, and the facility. Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the needs of residents and their families. Assist in developing the monthly activity calendar and maintaining attendance records.
Assist the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing plans to address quality deficiencies as requested by the Activities Director. Participate in discharge planning, develop and implement activity care plans, and conduct resident assessments. Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharges. Develop a monthly activity schedule including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or isolated.
Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities such as hobbies, crafts, and reading. Provide materials including Braille or audiobooks as needed. Assist with documentation, quarterly progress notes, and maintain a clean, orderly, and secure activity department.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requires standing, walking frequently; sitting occasionally; reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling often; lifting up to 50 pounds frequently; and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must have good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
