Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Fee-for-service Psychotherapist (OLP) to support children and families in home and community settings across NYC. You’ll conduct assessments, develop service plans with family involvement, and provide short-term counseling to improve daily functioning.

This role offers flexible hours, in‑home visits, and crisis intervention when needed, with competitive pay per service hour and reimbursement for transportation costs. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT license.
• Ability to conduct home visits, evenings or weekends preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with children, teens, and families in home and community settings.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments.
• Create personalized service plans with active family involvement to guide care and ensure meaningful progress.
• Provide short-term counseling to reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning.
• Deliver in-person and phone crisis intervention when a child is experiencing distress.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support effective care and collaboration.

Ready to make a real impact in your community? As a Psychotherapist (OLP), you’ll help children and families get the support they need early—before behavioral health challenges grow more serious. Your work will provide compassionate, in‑home and community‑based care to guide children toward stability, growth, and long‑term success.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with children, teens, and their families right where they live—at home and in the community
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments
• Create personalized service plans with active family involvement to guide care and ensure meaningful progress
• Provide short‑term counseling to reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning.
• Deliver in‑person and phone‑based crisis intervention when a child is experiencing any psychiatric, behavioral or situational distress
• Keep accurate, up‑to‑date documentation to support effective care and collaboration

What We’re Looking For:

• NYS LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT (required)
• Flexibility to conduct home visits (evenings or weekends preferred)
• Strong communication, assessment, and time‑management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred
• Bilingual a plus: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, or others
