Qualifications

  • Active Minnesota license as Mental Health professional; or provisional licensure with path to independent licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality clinical assessments for children and families.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy for patients ages 5+.

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Pediatric Psychotherapist - Patients children & adolescents ages 5+
Starting salary between $60,153.00 and $75,181.00. Salary placed based upon experience

Position Overview:

The Psychotherapist is responsible for completing mental health and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clinical assessments; providing individual, family, and group therapy; case management and discharge planning with the highest level of service excellence. The therapist consults with physicians and fellow caregivers as a member of a multidisciplinary team to assure the highest quality service is delivered in a timely and efficient manner. They participate in departmental and system-wide quality improvement activities and act as a resource to all clinic and system personnel.

  • Performs high quality therapeutic services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides individual clinical assessments of patients/families to promote intervention strategies to facilitate quality of care, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Performs at a level to meet individual productivity standard.
  • Documents all sessions with patients/families completely and in accordance with all regulations in the patient’s clinical electronic medical record.
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge and performance in the profession/position.
  • Is knowledgeable of and keeps current on available community resources.
  • Provides information and referrals for the patient to the community resources.
  • Remains up to date and current on all child protection, vulnerable adult, and sexual abuse law and practice.
  • Networking. Maintains service excellence by exhibiting excellent customer relations with patients, families, significant others, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and community and referral services.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • When applicable, provide clinical supervision to assigned mental health professionals including clinical trainees, and/ or internship students.
    • Monitors clinical documentation to ensure compliance with licensing, ethical, and organizational standards
    • Offer clinical guidance and feedback, focusing on improving therapeutic skills and treatment outcomes for clients.
    • Facilitates and supports clinical development, fosters a positive treatment environment, and promotes a collaborative approach among team members that encourages knowledge sharing, skills development, peer support.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Required:
  • Masters Degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field
  • After obtaining the above degree, has completed at least 2 years or 4,000 hours of post degree supervised clinical practice under supervision in an appropriate setting; and is a licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Minnesota
  • OR, has completed clinical education and internship as required by graduate program, is licensed provisionally by the Minnesota Board (as appropriate) and is working toward independent licensure
  • Must obtain equivalent licensures in the state of Wisconsin within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Patient Information Database (Cerner)
  • BLS Certification
Preferred:
  • Must be eligible to become certified within PPO/insurance companies credentialing for Winona Health Services

This position is a direct care provider and requires the ability to give adequate care to patients/residents in the following age groups:

Child (2-12)
Adolescent (13-17)
Adult (18-65)
Geriatric (65 and over)

Clinical outpatient environment. Fast-paced and challenging environment with constantly changing reimbursement rules and regulations. Multi-tasking ability required due to the wide variety of assigned duties.

Required Work Schedule:

Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, however there may be times that it is necessary to be flexible regarding times for group sessions in the unit and with outpatient sources.
