Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in related field.
• Must possess one of the following licenses as required by state board where services will be provided: WV, OH, MD or PA.
• WV: Temporary Social Worker License or Licensed Graduate Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor Temporary Permit.
• Licensed Professional Counselor Associate - West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling.
• OH: Licensed Social Worker through the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
• MD: Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor through the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
• PA: Licensed Social Worker through the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation.
• Assist in creating a comprehensive psychosocial treatment plan utilizing appropriate clinical social work treatments and interventions, including crisis intervention and group therapies.
• Screen, identify, diagnose, and assist in treatment of mental health and/or substance abuse problems in patients and family members.
• Maintain working knowledge of and liaison with community agencies and resources.
• Document assessment, plan, interactions, and interventions according to departmental and health system guidelines.
• Attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.
