Opportunity at a Glance

We seek experienced instructors with high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to practitioner-focused education. We primarily invite industry professionals to share their expertise with undergraduate and graduate students across various fields. Courses meet once or twice weekly for eight weeks, combining face-to-face sessions with online discussions and assignments to enhance learning. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses using approved syllabi that follow campus templates and include clear terminal objectives.
• Organize, prepare, and regularly update all course materials.
• Utilize appropriate online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and discussion forums, to facilitate accessible learning.
• Model effective oral and written communication to engage students and clarify content.
• Set clear expectations by publishing course objectives, assignment deadlines, exam dates, and grading criteria.
• Ensure exam content aligns with course objectives and grade exams fairly and consistently, providing timely feedback.
• Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or PhD in Psychology or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate credits in psychology courses, is required. Candidates with a PhD are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Minimum of 2 years of online teaching experience at the instructor level or higher.
• Experience teaching assigned courses and maintaining current credentials, if applicable.
• Passion for education and lifelong learning, with excellent subject matter expertise and communication skills.
• Genuine desire to serve students and colleagues with respect and care.
• Ability to provide official transcripts from accredited institutions.

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:

The expected compensation ranges from $715 to $1,950 per credit hour, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as course type, experience, location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets.
