Education & Licensure
- Degree in Psychology, required, with an emphasis in sport, performance, or related domains.
- Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and/or advanced degree in Psychology (masters, doctorate) preferred.
Experience
- Familiarity with quantitative psychology (psychometrics, cognitive neuroscience, or similar domains).
- Prior professional sports experience as a mental performance coach, player, or staff preferred.
Skills
- Independent judgment and ability to multitask is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing sensitive information.
- High level of interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels and personalities.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications and communication platforms in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR and Slack).
Other
- Spoken and written fluency in English.
- Spoken and written fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
- This position requires roving responsibilities to Cincinnati Reds Minor League Affiliates and the Dominican Republic Academy.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Applied Psychology – 75%
- Deliver best practices-based services and resources
- Support players and staff across affiliates through the season, in-person and remotely
- Lead one-on-one sessions as well as small group and team sessions
- Implement education sessions around best psychology practices targeted for players, staff, and coaches
- Work alongside staff and coaches to develop action plans for players, emphasizing applied psychology practices
Psychology Research & Development – 20%
- Develop and refine psychological practices based off internal and external researchCommunicate findings from applied work to innovate research methods
- Continue learning and updating knowledge and practice through the most current research available
- Develop educational materials on applied psychology methods and tools
Administrative – 5%
- Coordinate meetings between a variety of people and departments
- Maintain and manage reporting and records
- Other duties as assigned by the Baseball Analytics and Player Development.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds (equipment, medical equipment, etc.).
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties
- Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like locker rooms).
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
- Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like computer work, note-taking, etc.
- Ability to work long shifts with long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to drive and/or fly short and long distances, day or night in various conditions.
- Adhere to Cincinnati Reds Organization Policies and Procedures.
- Act as a role model within and outside the Cincinnati Reds Organization.
- Perform duties as workload necessitates.
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Willingness to learn. Open to new methodologies.
