Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

This position involves performing Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans filing disability claims related to mental health conditions such as PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. The exams include mental health assessments and medical opinions but do not involve treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient assessments and evaluations
• Request and perform psychological/neuropsychological testing services
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions
• Enter determinations in accordance with VA guidelines
• Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mental health exams for conditions like PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, and Eating Disorders
• Write medical opinions for mental health claims
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA policies
• Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time, non-treatment assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel
• Dedicated secure workspace and high-speed internet access at home
• Graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C&P exams (training provided)
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)
• Certification from ASPPB (CPQ)
• Experience in managed care, peer reviews, and working with commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare lines
• Experience with CPT and HCPCS codes, higher levels of care, children, adolescents, and substance abuse
• Advanced computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to work independently

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $63.42 + $4.93 H&W per hour
