Psychologist (Remote)

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims for mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams include assessments and medical opinions but do not involve treatment.

Key Roles

• Conduct standard outpatient assessments/evaluations.
• Handle psychological/neuropsychological testing requests.
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions.
• Enter determinations within VA guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform mental health examinations for conditions like PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, and Eating Disorders.
• Write medical opinions for mental health claims.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and VA rules.
• Note: C&P mental health examinations are one-time, no-treatment assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
• Dedicated secure workspace and high-speed internet access at home.
• Graduated from an APA-accredited program.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with C&P exams (training provided).
• American Board of Professional Psychology Diplomate (ABPP).
• Additional experience in managed care, peer reviews, and various clinical settings.
• Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with children, adolescents, substance abuse, and evidence-based treatments.
• Advanced computer skills and excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Pay: $57.67 + $4.93 H&W per hour.
