Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans filing disability claims related to mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams involve assessments and medical opinions but do not include treatment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct standard outpatient assessments and evaluations.
2. Handle psychological and neuropsychological testing requests.
3. Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions.
4. Enter determinations within VA guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
5. Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for psychological or neuropsychological testing.

Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive mental health examinations for conditions like PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, Eating Disorders.
2. Write medical opinions for mental health claims as a subject matter expert.
3. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA rules.
4. Note: C&P mental health examinations are one-time, no-treatment assessments.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license.
2. At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
3. Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
4. Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access at home.
5. Graduated from an APA-accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in performing C&P exams (training provided).
2. Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
3. Experience in managed care, peer reviews, and working with diverse insurance lines.
4. Clinical experience with children, adolescents, Substance Use Disorders, and Evidence-Based Treatments.
5. Advanced computer skills, organizational, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $62.60 + $4.93/hour for H&W.
