Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims related to mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams involve assessments and medical opinions but do not include treatment.

Key Roles

1. Conduct outpatient assessments/evaluations.
2. Manage Psychological / Neuropsychological Testing requests.
3. Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and trainings; ensure documentation complies with VA guidelines; perform other duties as required.
4. Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for psychological or neuropsychological testing.

Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive mental health examinations (MDE) for conditions like PTSD, Depression, MST, anxiety, eating disorders.
2. Write medical opinions as a subject matter expert for mental health claims.
3. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA regulations.
4. Note: C&P mental health examinations are one-time, non-treatment assessments.

Required Qualifications

1. Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist.
2. Current license permitting full, independent practice without restrictions (additional state licenses may be required).
3. At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
4. Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
5. Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access (cable/DSL).
6. Graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in performing C&P exams (training provided).
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
• American Society for Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing (ASPPB) Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ).
• Experience in managed care settings, peer reviews, and with commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare.
• Experience with CPT and HCPCS codes, higher levels of care, children/adolescents, substance abuse, and evidence-based treatments.
• Advanced computer skills, organizational and time management skills, and excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.
