Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans filing disability claims related to mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams include assessments and medical opinions but do not involve treatment.

Key Roles

• Conduct standard outpatient assessments/evaluations
• Handle psychological/neuropsychological testing requests
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and trainings; ensure determinations are entered within VA guidelines; perform other duties as assigned
• Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mental health examinations (MDE) for conditions such as PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, Eating Disorders
• Write medical opinions as a mental health claims expert
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and VA regulations
• Note: C&P mental health examinations are one-time, no-treatment assessments

Required Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel
• Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access
• Graduated from an APA-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C&P exams (training provided)
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)
• American Society for Psychological and Neuropsychological Professionals (ASPPB) Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ)
• Experience in managed care, peer reviews, commercial/Medicaid/Medicare lines of business, CPT/HCPCS coding, higher levels of care, pediatric and substance abuse clinical work, Evidence-Based Treatments
• Advanced Excel and Access skills, excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities; adaptability to fast-paced environments

Pay: $61.46 + $4.93 per hour for housing & wellness
