Job Description

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated Transplant Psychologist to join our solid organ transplant team. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

We are looking for an experienced Solid Organ Transplant Infectious Disease Psychologist to provide specialized psychological care to patients undergoing transplantation and those affected by infectious diseases. The role involves managing psychosocial challenges related to transplantation, infectious disease management, adherence to medical protocols, and mental health support for patients and families.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and manage care for transplant candidates and recipients in acute and outpatient settings.
  • May include chronic disease management and pre-evaluation in critical care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team care planning, quality, and performance assessments.
  • Report primarily to Transplant Program leadership and the Schar Heart and Vascular service line, with matrixed reporting to Behavioral Health.
  • Provide group, individual, and family therapy tailored to patient and family goals.
Additional Requirements
  • Work schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Licensure: Unrestricted license to practice psychology in Virginia.
  • Experience: Preferably in health psychology, behavioral medicine, or transplant/infectious disease care.
  • Education: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an accredited program.
