Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services seeks a full-time Psychologist II at Western State Hospital in Staunton, VA. The role focuses on evaluating individuals with serious mental disorders, providing services or referrals, and supporting recovery within a collaborative, interdisciplinary framework.

The position requires a Ph.D./Psy.D. in psychology, Virginia licensure or eligibility within one year, and experience with serious mental illness.

Qualificações

• Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• License to practice clinical psychology in Virginia or license-eligible within one year of hire.
• Demonstrated experience in applying psychological assessment and intervention for individuals with serious mental disorders.
• Completion or eligible completion of the forensic evaluation training program for Virginia.

Responsabilidades

• Provide psychological services including assessment and therapy for patients on the unit.
• Collaborate with other care disciplines to maximize interdisciplinary care quality.
• Participate in planning for transitions and continued recovery in community settings.
• Supervise at least one mental health worker and participate in system-level duties as assigned.
