  • Knowledge and abilities for psychological practice focusing on risk assessment and risk management.
  • Familiarity with hospital, community resources and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and graduated privileging.
  • Knowledge of how mental illness interacts with legal/criminal justice systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive treatment to patients adjudicated NGRI, including risk assessment and risk management strategies.
  • Prepare forensic reports for progression through the graduated privileging process.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing psychological assessments and individual therapy sessions.
  • Contribute to treatment planning as a core member of the treatment team; participate in psychotherapy groups.
  • Possibly supervise and train students (interns and practicum).
