Psychologist (Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program) - EDRP Authorized

Join to apply for the Psychologist (Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program) - EDRP Authorized role at VA Detroit.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment initiative. Eligibility requirements must be met, and the application must be submitted within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application.

Duties

The incumbent serves as a staff psychologist in the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP), providing assessments, individual and group therapy, patient staffing, and consultation. The DRRTP addresses substance use, psychosocial stressors, and co-occurring disorders.

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT until October 18, 2025, with initial review cut-off on October 28, 2024, and subsequent monthly reviews. Applications received after these dates will be considered as vacancies arise.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations, including psychological testing and suicide assessments.
• Provide psychological interventions and consultation services.
• Assist in staff training and supervision as needed.

Academic/Teaching/Research

• Offer consultation and training on mental health disorders.
• Potentially serve as a supervisor or teach seminars.
• Conduct research supporting the mission of STVHCS.

Administrative and Program Evaluation

• Manage clinical programs and coordinate with other mental health services.
• Adhere to operational policies and performance measures.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Telework is available; this position is not virtual.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, English proficiency, and licensure as a psychologist.
• Meeting education and internship requirements as specified.

Qualifications
