Wellpath in Kentucky’s correctional system seeks a licensed physician to assess and treat patients’ physical health, perform examinations, coordinate outside referrals, and provide education. You will work in a team with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to deliver integrated care and ensure safety and quality in a demanding environment.

Requirements include an MD or DO, two years of post-residency clinical experience, KY license, DEA, and board certification in internal or family

How you make a difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is in correctional clinical settings.

Additional Details

-Candidate must be licensed in the state of KY.

-This position offers a $20,000 bonus for full-time employment.

Qualifications & Requirements

EDUCATION

• Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting

• Psychiatric experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Licensed in the state of employment

• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications

• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
