Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure that the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system where prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
As a Psychologist at a Human Service Center, you will provide a broad array of services, involving complex cases requiring advanced expertise. Responsibilities include psychological assessments, psychotherapy, and court testimony. You will also participate in consultation and training with individuals, families, agency staff, and community partners. There may also be opportunities to supervise students.
To thrive in this position, you should be comfortable completing all components of psychological assessment and serving as an expert examiner. Previous experience in consultation and training is beneficial.
HHS offers a supportive training environment for psychology residents or newly licensed psychologists, including Board-approved supervision onsite and ongoing communication and training opportunities across the system. This support helps newer psychologists develop evaluation skills in specialty areas used in psychological evaluations required by ND Century Code within DHHS.
Minimum qualifications: A Doctorate in Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, as per North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-32. If fully licensed candidates are unavailable, consideration will be given to filling the position as a Psychology Resident, requiring a Doctorate in Psychology and eligibility for supervised residency as determined by the ND Board.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of a defensive driving course during orientation. Alternative transportation methods, such as public transit, are acceptable where available.
