Job summary

Comcast in Washington, DC is seeking a psychologist to provide outpatient psychological counseling within a 2-psychiatrist, 1-PT psychologist, 1 LCSW and 1 Substance Abuse Provider team. The role involves assessing patients, administering tests, and coordinating care with medical staff.

The position emphasizes collaboration, patient education, and referrals to other disciplines as needed in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic psychological counseling.
• Assess a patient's psychological status and provide appropriate interventions and treatments.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other team members to provide appropriate psychological therapy for patients.
• Refer patients to other disciplines for consultation and evaluations as indicated.
• Provide psychological expertise and education to patients, families, and supporting providers involved in patient treatment plan.
• Partner with other disciplines as a resource.
• Communicate complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
• Administer and interpret psychological tests used for diagnosing mental and personality disorders and differentiating between organic and functional cases of behavior disorders.
