NaphCare is hiring a Psychologist to join our team at Perryville – Arizona Department of Corrections in Goodyear, Arizona. The position offers competitive pay and opportunities for both full-time and part-time employment.

Pay ranges from $60.00 to $74.00 per hour, depending on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience. The role involves leadership, counseling, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support inmate mental health and reintegration.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unrestricted Psychologist license in the STATE
• Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
• Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff and judges
• Ability to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plans
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat mental and emotional disorders.
• Work with inmates to aid reintegration, including housing and employment resources.
• Provide counseling to help inmates cope with incarceration.
• Coordinate and lead mental health training activities.
• Conduct risk assessments to inform housing, treatment and release decisions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for Psychologist:

The Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological leadership, consultation and direct services for patients to help improve their mental health and reduce the risk of recidivism. Additional responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in providing assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders of patients.


• Working with inmates to prepare them for reintegration into society, providing support for finding housing, employment, and other resources.


• Providing counseling and support to help inmates manage emotional challenges, cope with incarceration, and develop coping mechanisms.


• Coordinating, leading and participating in educational training activities related to mental health care


• Conducting risk assessments to identify potential dangers to inmates and the public, informing decisions about housing, treatment, and release

Qualifications
