McLean Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, invites applications for a half-time Staff Psychologist in the School Consultation Service within the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department, located in Cambridge, MA. The position includes a concurrent HMS Instructor appointment, pending HMS eligibility.

Salary and package are per hospital policies. Massachusetts license requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, school or counseling psychology from an accredited university or school of psychology.
• Postdoctoral training preferred.
• Current licensure (or license eligible) in Massachusetts. Completion of an APA-accredited program and internship, with strong CBT/DBT background.
• Experience in consultation and/or working in schools preferred; DBT expertise preferred.
• Familiarity with ACT, PCIT, SPACE, and behavioral parent training models.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative and training services on evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT) in school and youth settings.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, and care providers to coordinate consultative services.
• Maintain accurate documentation compliant with standards.
• Participate in clinical meetings, case consultations, and program evaluation.
• Deliver educational trainings to school personnel and caregivers about mental health options and strategies.
• Assist in developing new program materials and services.

Job Summary

McLean Hospital, America's top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a half-time (20 hours/week) Staff Psychologist in the McLean Hospital School Consultation Service within the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department at McLean Hospital, located in Cambridge, MA. The position will include a concurrent faculty appointment as an Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies, and a Harvard Medical School appointment will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications including Massachusetts license.

Qualifications

• Must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical, school or counseling psychology from an accredited university or school of psychology.
• Completion of postdoctoral training preferred.
• Current licensure (or license eligible) in Massachusetts Completion of an APA-accredited program, have completed an APA-accredited internship, and have a strong background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
• Experience in consultation and/or working in schools is preferred.
• Strong expertise in DBT preferred.
• Familiarity with complementary evidence-based treatments such as ACT, PCIT, SPACE, behavioral parent training models.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• The staff psychologist will provide consultative and training services on evidence-based mental health practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT), school and camp/afterschool, and other youth-serving organizational settings.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, and other care providers to coordinate and implement consultative services.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultations, and program development and evaluation efforts.
• Provide educational trainings to school and organizational personnel and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Assist in developing new program materials and/or services.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding patient care and privacy (e.g., HIPAA, licensing standards).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
